The Many Benefits Of Flaxseed

The flaxseed plant has been known since the Stone Ages. One of the first recorded culinary uses of flaxseed has been registered from the times of Ancient Greece. In the Ancient Greek and Roman times, the health benefits of flaxseed were widely known and praised.

Why is Flaxseed so popular?

  • Flaxseed contains Omega-3 essential Fatty Acids (the good fats). These essential fatty acids have shown to reduce the risk of stroke, heart disease, cancer, and diabetes. Flaxseed is especially good for women’s health, bone health, and for its anti-inflammatory properties.
  • Flaxseed contains lignans that have both plant estrogen and antioxidant qualities.
  • Flaxseed has lots of fibers! It contains both the soluble and insoluble types.
  • Flaxseed is high in most B-Vitamins, manganese and magnesium and phytochemicals beneficial to our immune systems.

More and more doctors and nutritionists are telling us that is should be a part of our diet.

At Nature Creation, we use flaxseed as a natural heating/cooling element (rather than using a synthetic material or chemical gel). It maintains heat and cold very well, and it’s a main ingredient in our signature blends. Flaxseed also has a lovely soft texture that provides our natural hot & cold packs a smooth feeling when applied to the body.
