The History & Benefits Of Chamomile

The benefits of Chamomile are known for thousands of years. The use of chamomile dated back as far as the Ancient Egyptians but was most probably used by many Ancient Cultures before then. The word Chamomile, as we know it today, is Greek in its origin. It was used in Ancient Greece and Spain for flavoring various foods and in Ancient Rome as incense and in beverages.

The health benefits of chamomile are numerous. It is commonly used for tea, and people drink it when they have chest colds as it is said to ease coughing and aches. There are chamomile drinks, oils, lotions, and perfumes available in today’s marketplace. Chamomile has also been found to ease stomachaches, menstrual cramps and help with sleeping problems.

We use chamomile in our unique herbal blend because of its beautiful aroma and its natural healing qualities. Before going to sleep, breathing in the scent of chamomile from one of our herbal packs promotes relaxation and gives a sense of tranquility to the person using it. That’s why it is one of our very favorite herbs!
