In January, many people rush to the gym, buy workout products or start their new year’s exercise resolution. However, sometimes when the muscles are exercised, acids are formed in the body and blood flow and oxygen are decreased resulting in achy joints and sore muscles.
The Solution: A Nature Creation Natural Hot and Cold Therapy Pack (www.naturecreation.com) – Many experts agree that placing a hot pack over the area where there is muscle pain or soreness, will not only soothe the muscle but help relieve the pain as well. In addition, the hot pack will externally stimulate the blood flow and help relax the muscle.
A Nature Creation hot pack not only improves the blood flow into the muscle, it may also help flush out the acid built up in the muscle. In addition, Nature Creation products are filled with a proprietary blend of 100% natural herbs and grains adding a relaxing, aromatherapy advantage to your treatment.
When using a hot pack, make sure that the muscles are just sore and not swollen or inflamed. If there are signs of inflammation, use the Nature Creation pack as a cold pack.
When to use a Nature Creation product as a hot or cold pack?
Use as a Cold Pack: Primarily to soothe ACUTE pain in one specific area that strikes out of the blue (like your back, knee, etc.) to reduce swelling & inflammation.
When to Apply: Ideally, you should always apply within 1 hour of the ache, pain and soreness setting in (like after a workout).
For How Long: Use the cold pack for 15 minutes max, then 30 minutes without. Do this up to 4 times a day, as needed; for up to 2 days max. If you still need pain relief, then switch to HEAT (below).
Use as a Hot Pack: Primarily to soothe CHRONIC pain that comes and goes over time (like lower back, neck, hamstrings, etc.) and to relax tight muscles.
When to Apply: Ideally, you should only apply heat after any acute pain associated with the area has passed. Otherwise, you could worsen the swelling in that area.
For How Long: Use a Nature Creation Hot Pack for 20 minutes. Do this up to 3 times a day, as needed, indefinitely.

The overall qualities of warmth and heat have long been associated with comfort and relaxation, heat therapy goes a step further and can provide both pain relief and healing benefits for many types of back pain. In addition, heat therapy for back pain is both inexpensive and easy to do.
How heat therapy works
Many episodes of lower back pain result from strains and over-exertions, creating tension in the muscles and soft tissues around the lower spine. As a result, this restricts proper circulation and sends pain signals to the brain.
Muscle spasm in the lower back can create sensations that may range from mild discomfort to excruciating lower back pain. Heat therapy can help relieve pain from the muscle spasm and related tightness in the lower back.
* Heat therapy dilates the blood vessels of the muscles surrounding the lumbar spine. This process increases the flow of oxygen and nutrients to the muscles, helping to heal the damaged tissue.
* Heat stimulates the sensory receptors in the skin, which means that applying heat to the lower back will decrease transmissions of pain signals to the brain and partially relieve the discomfort.
* Heat application facilitates stretching the soft tissues around the spine, including muscles, connective tissue, and adhesion. Consequently, with heat therapy, there will be a decrease in stiffness as well as injury, with an increase in flexibility and overall feeling of comfort. Flexibility is very important for a healthy back.
There are several other significant benefits of heat therapy that make it so appealing. Compared to most therapies, heat therapy is quite inexpensive. Heat therapy is also easy to do — it can be done at home while relaxing, and also make it an option while at work or in the car.
For many people, heat therapy works best when combined with other treatment modalities, such as physical therapy and exercise. Relative to most medical treatments available, heat therapy is appealing to many people because it is a non-invasive and non-pharmaceutical form of back pain relief
How to Apply Heat Therapy
The most effective heat therapy product is Nature Creation Herbal Pack. They can maintain their heat at the proper temperature. “Warm” is the proper temperature. Patients should not have their heat source be hot to the point of burning the skin. The desired effect is for the heat to penetrate down into the muscles. Simply increasing the temperature of the skin will do little to decrease discomfort.
In many instances, the longer the heat is applied, the better. The duration that one needs to apply the heat, though, is based on the type of and/or magnitude of the injury. For very minor back tension, short amounts of heat therapy may be sufficient (such as 15 to 20 minutes). For more intense injuries, longer sessions of heat may be more beneficial (such as 30 minutes to 2 hours, or more).
Two options of heat therapy include moist heat and dry heat.
* Dry heat, draw out moisture from the body and may leave the skin dehydrated. However, some people feel that dry heat is the easiest to apply and feels the best.
* Moist heat, steamed or moist heating packs can aid in the heat’s penetration into the muscles, and some people feel that moist heat provides better pain relief.
Finally, it is important to use enough insulation between the heat source and the skin to avoid overheating or burning the skin.
Please note that heat should not be used in certain circumstances. For example, if the lower back is swollen or bruised, heat should not be used. Patients should consult doctors if they have heart disease or hypertension. Heat application is also not suitable in the following cases:
* Deep vein thrombosis
* Peripheral vascular disease
* Open wound
* Severe cognitive impairment
In general, if the injured area is swollen or bruised it is better to apply cold treatment to reduce the inflammation or swelling.
In summary, heat therapy is an easy and inexpensive option to provide relief from many forms of back pain. It may be used alone or in conjunction with other therapies. Because it is so simple, it is often overlooked and physicians may forget to mention it, but heat therapy used in the right way can be a valuable part of many back pain treatment programs.
Heat therapy, along with its counterpart ice therapy, has been one of the most effective methods for treating sore muscles. Heat increases blood flow, reduces pain and is relaxing. Heat patches are one of the more popular items on the market today. They are convenient, because they allow you to be mobile while they work.
Nature Creation is a leading manufacturer in USA of natural hot & cold herbal therapy packs. Our products are unique because they are made of 9 essential natural herbs, blended into convenience pack-design to fit the contour of your body. Unlike common heat patches in the market, they are made of iron, water, carbon and salt. They work by the process of iron oxidation. When iron is exposed to oxygen, it generates heat momentarily. Unfortunately, the heat generated from these chemical reaction are uncontrollable and can result to rash, skin irritation due to chemical reaction on the skins.
Understanding the issue of sensitive skins and adaptability, Nature Creation is offering flexible, adaptable and convenience therapy product for everyone. It is flexible because most of Nature Creation products can be used as heat or cold therapy treatments. you decide the heating temperature by selecting the heating time of the microwave or the freezing time of the freezer. The products are designed to fit comfortable to the contour of your body. In most designs, Nature Creation products have flexible Velcro straps for securing the pack to the treating area. Also, Nature Creation is super convenience because you can use it many times for multiple users, easy to prepare, and very effective.

Massage During LaborParticularly during early labor, having a partner massage your lower back, thighs or hips during contractions can be a welcome distraction and relief. Use a massage oil rather than bare hands-it is wise to have a fragrance-free option available, as even a favorite scent may become nauseating or overpowering during labor. Aromatherapy oils may, however, be effective-lavender is famous for its calming effect. Aromatherapy oils are usually diluted in a carrier oil such as apricot kernel oil before applying to the skin, for safety reasons. Your partner need not be qualified in massage, although this is a bonus! Communication will ensure that he or she is applying pressure correctly and at the right moments.
Applying Heat Treatment During Labor
A hot Nature Creation Herbal Pack can be effective in reducing the pain of contractions. Women who turn to heat for pain relief during menstruation are likely to find this method comforting. It is useful to have a partner on hand to reheat the bags or bottles as necessary! A long wheat bag (or rice bag), which is big enough to cover the entire lower back from hip to hip, is especially useful. Wheat or rice bags have an advantage over hot water bottles in terms of safety-a laboring woman can lie on them, twist, squeeze or even bite them without fear of rupturing them!
Laboring or Birthing In Water
Laboring and even giving birth in a birth pool or tub is becoming an increasingly popular birth choice. Women have many reasons for choosing a water birth, but pain relief is often a major factor in the decision. Current medical advice suggests that a laboring woman not enter the pool until she is 5–6 cm dilated, in order to avoid the water stalling labor. While some women find that the water intensifies their contractions, most report a sensation of relief, weightlessness and calm upon getting into the pool. Other women, who choose not to use a birthing pool, find that laboring in the shower provides a similar level of pain relief. One advantage a pool has over a shower is the ease with which a woman can change positions. Aromatherapy oils can also be added to a pool, although this is not recommended if the woman plans to give birth in the pool. Again, bear in mind that some scents may seem overpowering or unpleasant while in labor.
Using TENS Machines for Labor Pain Relief
A slightly higher-tech method of pain relief, TENS machines involve applying electrodes to the lower back, which send electrical signals to the brain, interrupting the pain signals of labor. Mixed results have been reported with these machines; however, they have the usual advantages of drug-free pain relief options, in that they are safe for mother and baby.
Using Raspberry Leaf Tea to Shorten Labor
Red raspberry leaf tea is a uterine tonic, often recommended for pregnant woman during the third trimester to promote Braxton-Hicks contractions and strengthen the womb in preparation for labor. Although no scientific studies have been done, many women report that a large, strong brew of raspberry leaf tea at the onset of labor quickens labor and helps diminish the pain experienced. Raspberry leaf tea can be drunk sweetened or plain, hot or iced. The tea can also be sipped throughout labor, to keep hydrated.
